On June 16, at the Pontifical Academy of Sciences (Casina Pio IV), in Vatican City, the fourth edition of the Business Ethics Summit, an international event that brings together each year a select group of business leaders, academics, institutional representatives, and experts from world-renowned organizations and institutions to discuss issues of ethics, leadership, and innovation.

The 2026 edition, dedicated to the theme “The Humility of Power: Ignorance, Error, and Responsibility in High-Impact Technology,” focused the discussion on some of the key challenges that businesses, institutions, and organizations are called upon to address in today’s world. Artificial intelligence, innovation governance, sustainability, accountability in decision-making, and the role of leadership in a context of continuous transformation were among the topics addressed throughout the day.

Through contributions from academics, executives of major international corporations, institutional representatives, and experts in technology and innovation, the Summit fostered a discussion centered on three fundamental questions: What remains truly human as intelligence becomes increasingly accessible; which certainties deserve to be reconsidered in the face of accelerating technological progress; and what responsibilities the exercise of power entails today.

For the second consecutive year, Umbria Business School took part in the Business Ethics Summit, represented by Director Fabio Casali. This participation confirms the School’s interest in taking part in major international forums where discussions on leadership, innovation, and organizational responsibility take place.
